LAB 5 NOTE: These labs are known for high failure rates. Therefore, if I show an example using data, a graph, etc… yours may be totally different depending upon mine and yours success with the lab. So don’t freak if your data is completely different from mine. And therefore the analysis of results sometimes may need to be answered differently since you base your analysis off your data and not mine. DISCLAMIER: DO NOT CHEAT! Table 5.1 example: Note: I was assigned ROOM TEMP ENVIRONMENT. If you were not assigned the same, then your results will look different. Side notes: -I had to specify the year because we were using different years of peas. -Difference calculated by initial minus final. -Adjusted difference calculated by pea volume at time X minus glass bead volume difference at time X. Analysis of Results 1. …Identify two hypotheses being tested in this activity. -The rate of cellular respiration will be higher in germinating peas in cold and room temperature water baths than in that of beads and non-germinating peas. -The colder temperature in the cold water bath should slow the process of cellular respiration in the peas.
