Indian Institute of Management Bangalore PGP : 2009 – 2011 Fixed Income Securities and Its Derivatives Faculty: Professor Sankarshan Basu Course Details: 3 Credits Term IV (June – August 2010) Objective: The course, as the name suggests, deals with the entire gamut of Fixed Income Securities as well as derivatives with such securities as the underlying. In that sense, this course will be based on concepts discussed in the Financial Derivatives course, but will also look at other aspects in this area as well. At the completion of this course, the students should have developed a good understanding of the Fixed Income Markets, issues related to Fixed Income Markets, Fixed Income products and derivative contracts on such products. The students should also be reasonably proficient on related quantitative techniques that are used in the design, pricing as well as analysis of such instruments.
