The engine is attached through a mount with a height H m , cross-sectional area A m , and material modulus E m . Assume that the mount and wing contain much less mass than the engine. The wing has length L w , modulus E w , and cross-sectional area moment of inertia, I w . The engine is attached to the wing a distance L w /4 from the fuselage. Gravity can be ignored and the fuselage can be treated like a fixed support. (a) Draw a schematic diagram of the system using lumped parameters to model the vertical translational dynamic behavior of the engine as it vibrates on the wing, which also bends.
