When tracing stimuli to LTM (long term memory) the purpose of sensory memories is crucial because they operate as buffers. Thus it can be noticed how the information transmits from sensory memory into STM (short-term memory), which then activates for recall of data that was processed. In the next step, it can be noticed the way chunking process also takes place in the form of closure. STM (short term memory) storages the data provided by the stimuli over a large period of time and also the data from the WM (working memory) is transferred for being stored, deleted or retrieved. Proactive interference has an effect on recently lost information that of getting mixed up

On the other hand, retroactive interference occurs when recent data or information pushes the older data out of the memory. It must be noticed how this is called because it takes place backwards. (here you can discuss strategies for improving memory consolidation and retrieval). While you offer strategies to improve memory consolidation and retrieval, here’s some ideas for research: Method of Loci, Peg-Word system, Mnemonic devices, Distributed Practice and Word Associations can be great tactics. You can say that you have used them for retrieval and consolidation during your carrier as active student....
