The Beatles Video 1961 The Beatles were a locally known band Brian Epstein (manager) took them over and smoothed over their image o He took their pictures with them in suits, they were very clean cut looking o They weren’t threatening to parents that were worried about their children listening to rock and roll George Martin signed them after Brain brought them to him o Martin wasn’t present at the audition for the trial recording session o The guy that was in charge didn’t like the way Pete was playing the drums so he tried to change it but Pete couldn’t play the way he wanted him to This translated into “Pete couldn’t play the drums very well” Pete was kicked out of the band because of this incident and also because he was the most popular guy with the girls out of the group The Beatles wanted to record their own songs o The first one they played for Martin was “Please, Please, Me” Martin had them refurbish it and make it faster, then they recorded it
