Postulates (Assumptions) of the Model Gases are composed of tiny atoms or molecules in  constant, random motion  Volume of particles is negligible compared with total  volume of gas Gas particles are seen as points separated by larger  distances Molecules undergo random, elastic collision with each  other and with walls of the container Total kinetic energy of gas particles constant at constant T Average kinetic energy is proportional to Kelvin Temp Gas Particles experience no attraction or repulsion This model predicts:  PV= nRT Kinetic Molecular Theory of Gases
