Capstone Checkpoint Post a 200- to 300-word summary that answers all of the following questions: Learning about the social, cultural and economical conditions that affect racial and ethnic minority groups in the United States has helped me better understand the different races and minority groups and to communicate better with them. Being African American I didn’t really learn something I didn’t already know about my cultural history but I did like learning the discrimination definitions for things that keep minorities from moving up in their jobs like glass ceiling and glass wall. The official population estimates now indicate that the Hispanic community is the nation’s largest minority community. It is also anticipated that the growth of racial and ethnic minority groups is set to overtake that

Racial and ethnic minority groups have a much younger median age, and by 2050 will account for nearly 90% of total population growth. The Census Bureau projects that by 2050 there will be 18 million more minorities than non-minorities under age 35. These changes will definitely affect the face of the United States. Knowledge is a way the country can prepare for change of its current and future citizens. I believe that the best way to prepare is to be aware of the history of different cultures. Another way to prepare is to really have an open mind and heart. Without knowledge and being willingly open, it will be difficult to accept the change which is very near....
