Business Continuity and Planning 2 Business Continuity and Planning The business continuity begins with the establishment’s strategic plan which informs the business of the importance of specific resources, processes, systems and other organizational needs. The plan is important because you are not always able to recover all assets in the mist of a disaster. The business continuity planning is a rigorous well-informed organizational methodology for developing a BCP using a step by step guideline that will define how the organization will recover from disaster or extend disruption of its business processes (Haag, S., Cummings, M, 2010).The next step in the business continuity planning is the analysis phase which starts with the impact analysis or risk assessment which deals with the importance of the information technology to the organization. There is also the threat analysis which may attack assets and includes things such as earthquakes, diseases, fire, or floods.
