Challenge of diversity 2 The Challenge of Diversity 1. Why do many companies find increasing and managing diversity to be difficult challenges? Companies may find this to be difficult due to the fact that they do not know how to execute diversity plans and include diverse individuals of the workplace. Another reason is that management might choose employees or candidates he or she feels more comfortable with, or are able to relate. Some businesses just lain and simply ignore the issue because they feel the way their running the company is the right way. 2. What were the key elements in Blahna's successful diversity strategy? The key was to review what was in front of them by using a diverse committee to illustrate the precise areas that were evident that needed to be changed. For instance Blahna kept a good record for hiring women and minorities, but the committee found that the turnover was two to three times higher than white males. The committee decided to
