20th Century American History Unit 1 Homework The Progressive Era in the United States was a period of reform that flourished from the 1890s to the 1920s. Keeping corruption out of politics was a main goal of the Progressive Era, with many Progressives trying to expose and undercut political machines and bosses. Many Progressives supported prohibition in order to destroy the political power base in saloons. At the same time, women’s suffrage was promoted to bring a purer female vote into the arena. There were more women going on to higher education during this period, a lot of women were going to universities, and many educated women were choosing to stay single to pursue careers rather than marrying. The number of women doctors in the USA was higher in the 1910s than in any other decade until the 1980s.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
