Unformatted text preview: Steve Jobs “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” Maybe, this is one of the greatest phrases which can describe this man, Steve Jobs, a famous businessman and a great computer programmer, who is also one of the most important people in the industry of computer science and entertainment. Steve Jobs was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Joanne Simpson and an Egyptian Arab father. Later, Paul and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California adopted him. The biological mother of Steve Jobs wanted him to go to college, and when he was at an age to attend college, he went to Reed College, which was very expensive. 1 That is why, one semester later, Jobs dropped out. However, instead of going back home, he hung around college and took up the study of philosophy and foreign cultures. Steve Jobs had a deep-seated interest in technology so he accepted a job at Atari Inc., which was a leading manufacturer of video games. After saving up some money, Steve Jobs traveled to India to get spirituality. When he returned, he convinced his friend Steve Wozniak to develop a personal computer, something in which Hewlett Packard would not seem to be interested.
