Jacob Zipperstein “Sick Care” Even though the situation involving all of our resources set on “sick care” seems unfair to preventative medicine, I believe that remaining in the field of “sick care” is the most appropriate action. This isn’t the fairest, or most reasonable plan, but I believe that it is the smartest. We should be keeping all of our resources on making sure people become healthier and in doing so; we are also helping to prevent a particular disease from endangering others. We as a society are so set on a “sick care” system right now because there is not enough information out there about preventative medicine. People believe that if they are sick, they need, and deserve to get better. While in the long run preventative medicine might be the best course of action, in the short run, “sick care” is always the best. Unfortunately, we will always be in the short run. If we as a society were completely selfless, then we would request that health care money go entirely to preventative
