Answer: 2) #2 Flip the ½ reaction of the smaller cell potential, but maintain the cell potential. 1) C + D Æ A + B ξ ° = 1 #3 Add the flipped ½ reaction to the other ½ reaction 1) C + D Æ A + B 2) E + F Æ G + H C + D + E + F Æ A + B + G + H #4 To determine the overall cell potential subtract the cell potential of 1) from 2) ξ ° Total = ξ ° R- ξ ° L = 2-1 = 1
