LIN 200 Language in the US Final review sheet Final Exam: Tuesday May, 11, 5:15pm – 7:45pm, in our normal lecture: Old Chem 116 The final exam is non-cumulative , and the vast majority of the questions will be on topics we covered after the midterm. However, while you won’t be tested directly on topics from before the midterm, some questions may incorporate things we learned in the first half of the class, so be prepared for that. You are responsible for all handouts, slide shows, posted articles and book readings, and DVDs watched in class, whether they have been discussed in detail in class or not. While questions most often are generated from my powerpoint lectures and that of guest speakers, that is not a 100 percent guarantee that questions will not come from chapter readings or articles. You should review the articles that were posted on Blackboard about Shinnecock, Hip-Hip music and language, etc. Since the midterm: o In Language in the USA we have read chapters 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 21, and 22 o In English with an Accent by Rosina Lippi-Green (1997) we read “The Stranger Within The Gates ”pp. 217-239 o We had a guest speaker Mark Lindsay come talk to us about iz-infixation . o
