James Frageau I believe in the right for every American child to have the opportunity to play organized sports. Though, every child does have this right many lack the opportunity and the benefits that come from playing sports. Throughout my pre college life I was blessed with the opportunity to every season have a different sport to play. Although, hockey was primarily year round, I participated competitively in baseball in the spring and summer, and football in the fall. The ability to compete every weekend gave me a drive to succeed that I still possess today. In today’s competitive society almost everything we do is in someway a competition. Whether you are applying for a job or simply attending high school, America’s cultural structure was driven towards competitiveness. The need to obtain the best job or to get the best grade on a physics test is a mindset so common in successful Americans.
