Assigned for my class: _____ “My Favorite Thing” Due: 02-10-2010 (Wednesday) Think of your favorite song, book, poem, story or piece of art (i.e., a book from your childhood, a painting, or your favorite campfire song). Purpose of Assignment: This short presentation will give you experience speaking in front of the class and will give your class a chance to know you better. Requirements: Your presentation should have three parts: an introduction, body, and conclusion . Introduce your favorite thing with an effective first sentence (attention-getter). For the body , use two or three main points (supported by examples/details) to describe your favorite thing (i.e. What is it? Why is it your favorite thing? Why is it important to you?). Conclude with a thought that you want the audience to remember about you and your favorite thing (clincher). Your presentation should be approximately two minutes . Be sure to time yourself when practicing your speech from your notes.
