GEOG182 Spring 2008 Lab 1: Unsupervised classification of Bay Area data For this and all subsequent labs, you will write a paper that contains both text and imagery, addressing the questions and themes posed. Please include your name and the lab number at the top of each document. It is not necessary to print the document; you may supply it to me in electronic form (stored preferably on a flash drive from which I can download it to my computer. Please don’t email large files to me). INTRODUCTION 1. Log in as user geog182 on a computer running Windows. Start Erdas Imagine from the Start > Programs menu (under Leica Geosystems). If prompted, select the classic viewer (default option). 2. Within the open viewer, open file south_bay.img. If the default directory is incorrect, select the Session > Preferences dialog box. If they are not already correct, set the Default Data Directory to C:/classes/geog182/lab1, and the Default Output Directory to a directory of your choice (I recommend creating a directory with your last name under C:/classes/geog182/lab1). UNSUPERVISED CLASSIFICATION
