Subculture Influences - Ethnic Identification - Religion - Age o Cohorts – a generational perspective. o Life Cycle Perspective o Key Values of Elderly Consumers - Geography Age - Age cohorts o Each generation shares common experiences - “Generation Y” or “milllenniels” (born between 1977 and 1994). o More ethnically diverse than previous nations. o More knowledgeable about marketing tactics than previous generations. o Have relatively traditional values compared to their parents. - Life Cycle Perspective (teens to 40’s information is adapted from Passages by Sheehy) o Teens Know what they do NOT want to be like. o 20’s Life is a mystery Believe in one true course in life
