Comm101 Dr. Simmons 2/24/09 Mini-project 1 Reading Signs: A Personal Interpretation of Body Language Over this past weekend, I interacted with numerous amounts of people and I payed close attention to peoples’ body language. Each encounter is a story on its own because of the unique body language people disperse. Much of the time the body language goes unnoticed; nevertheless, body language constitutes as communication when it is done intentionally or in acknowledgement. It is left up to the individuals involved to decide how to decode and interpret these signs. I will further describe several instances where I have experienced and witnessed in some shape or form body language with respect to kinesics, oculesics, haptics, proximics, and spaciality. On Saturday night, I went to my uncle’s house for a extravagant dinner party. They were celebrating their daughter’s 18 th birthday with family a friends. There were about 100 people at this party. We partied inside their home, and with 100 people you can imagine the traffic of people. Several times as I walked back and forth from the family
