Persuasive Speech This speech is designed to apply all of the concepts you have learned so far in this course. You will stay with your informative speech topic, using your peers’ feedback to craft a sound and effectively communicated persuasive argument. Your goal is to actually influence this audience in your desired direction. Your thesis should be stated as a proposition of public policy on an issue of social significance . In addition, you must call for a direct and specific course of action from your audience. Your speech is to be based on sound reasoning and evidence and must include motivational appeals and credibility. Requirements The speech should be six to eight minutes . The speech should be well-organized using the Problem-Solution or Monroe’s Motivated Sequence patterns. The progression of ideas should be logical and the major points must stand out from the subpoints that develop them. The introduction and conclusion should be fully developed—that is, they should include the three
