Experimenter’s Report First Trial The first trial seemed overwhelming to the subject! It was very difficult for the subject to regurgitate all the words/phrases after only seeing them for one minute. There seemed to be excessively many words, and it appeared that the subject was trying to figure out a trick to memorize as many words as possible within the first minute. The subject seemed frustrated with memorizing all the listed words and/ or phrases within the first trial. Second-Seventh Trial Remembering the list became easier and easier as trials passed. The more trials the subject went through, the more words and phrases became innate. The more the subject studied the sheet, the more she settled into her own little pattern for repeating them back. Not only did it become less difficult, but it also became quite fun. It was interesting to see how the human mind can create little tricks to help memorize a particular object. It was obvious that the subject tried to associate specific words with phrases, stories, jokes, and images, so she could memorize 1
