Unformatted text preview: BFA Graphic Design DsGD 104 Fall 200 9 Portfolio Review Introduction to Graphic Design The Graphic Design Program is looking for the student who has the ability to investigate and synthesize the needs of communication. The student who has a grasp of the techniques for the presentation of ideas and is able to utilize the common tools of the profession from concept sketches to comprehensives. Students who have the ability to de¡ne problems, to determine design priorities, to do research, to conceptualize and evaluate alternatives, to coordinate project elements, and to communicate concepts. Because the Professional Design Programs are highly demanding, it is necessary that each student who plans entry at the upper division level, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, submit a portfolio for faculty review. The portfolio is an advising and admission pro- cedure to assure that students are prepared for upper division. The Graphic Design Program requires completion of the following courses before entering DsGD 104.
