The unicorn and the magician are traveling together, but each is compelled to achieve something different. What are the individual goals of the two characters? Whose quest do you find the most compelling (at least so far)? Why? 2. The appearance of Mommy Fortuna’s Midnight Carnival into the story advances the plot by bringing the magician and the unicorn together, but what else does it add? What commentary on contemporary society, or human nature, or the relationship between appearance and reality, might be observable here? 3. Cully longs to be like Robin Hood and tries to pattern his life on the legend. Most would see this as pathetic, but would he be more or less pathetic without his ideals and longings? Can you imagine a sequel wherein he does achieve a kind of heroism in keeping with his longings? If so, briefly sketch the tale. If not, try to relate this to any other example you can think of with modern people trying to pattern their lives based on
