Sociology 166: Spring 2010, Dr. Natalie Boero Medical Sociology Midterm exam review The exam will take place in-class on Monday, March 22 nd 2010. Please bring a small UNMARKED bluebook and an 882-E scantron form with you to the exam. This exam will cover materials from weeks 1-8 of class. It will cover material from lecture, readings, class discussions, and films. The exam will be worth 30% of your final grade The exam will consist of: 1. Thirty multiple choice questions worth 2 points each (60 points) 2. 10 fill-in-the-blank questions worth 2 points each (20 points) 3. One short essay question: see below (20 points) You should anticipate questions covering concepts and topics from any materials covered in class, readings and films including, but not limited to: - The social distribution of health and illness - Gender and health - Race and health - Social class and health - The history of mortality rates in the United States - Social isolation and health - Immigration and health - The experience of chronic illness -
