EDSP 112 Treatment and Management of Speech-Language Disorders SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY CONNIE L. LURIE-COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SPRING 2009 COURSE DESCRIPTION The goal of this course is to develop student skills in the treatment and management of speech and language disorders in children from backgrounds that are culturally and linguistically diverse. GENERAL INFORMATION INSTRUCTOR : Henriette W. Langdon, Ed.D. F-CCC-SLP TELEPHONE : (408) 924-4019 EMAIL : [email protected] OFFICE HOURS : T: 2:00 PM-5:00 PM and TH: 2:00 PM-4:00PM and/or by appointment CLASS MEETS : TH 9:00 – 11:45 AM Room SH: 120 I will answer your phone and/or E-mail as promptly as I can. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT 1- I will respond to your e-mail or phone call as soon as I can. 2- Please let me know that you will be absent prior to class time. Please call or e-mail. 3- Arrive to class on time and leave only when class is dismissed. If you need to leave early, please let me know at the beginning of class. 4-To receive full credit for the class you must be present the last day of class during the exam period even though you may have presented the week before and/or have turned your final paper. 5 - Respect for peers’ comments and questions is expected as well as full attention to the class and collaboration. 6- No gum chewing or viewing of e-mail during class. 7- No hats or caps during class unless absolutely necessary. Please see me if you have to. 8- Please turn off your cell-phones and place them in your backpack or bag. THANK YOU!!
