AAS 125 Filipino Experience Finding Heroes Group Project Assignment: 40 Points for 12-15 page paper 10 Points for oral presentation The purpose of this project is to examine different areas of achievement in American society, understand the Filipino American role in those areas, and then to present individuals who have contributed to their fields in one way or other. Finding resources will be a challenge, but some stories have been written in monographs. These are called secondary sources. However, you will have to be creative to find original sources which historians call primary sources. You might have to do oral histories of certain individuals, some sources may even be your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties. Census reports and newspaper articles are primary sources. Each area suggested below involves a general description of how Filipinos have related. In each area there are particular individuals who have excelled. It is your job to learn the general story and to find out the struggles and achievements of individuals.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
