San Jose State University Department of Anthropology ANTH 100w Dr. Reckmeyer Writing Workshop Spring 2009 Learning Team Guidelines Purpose . The major purposes of the learning teams and group assignments in this course are to [a] provoke student reflections about the course material and how it relates to their lives; [b] provide students with an opportunity to practice group work and learn about group dynamics; [c] promote collective learning and responsible behavior; and [d] provide me with an opportunity to address questions or clarify points in a timely fashion throughout the semester when they can still have a positive influence on our collective teaching-learning. Structure . Students will meet with their learning teams for approximately 10-15 minutes at the end of each class session. Attendance and contribution to these group discussions will be evaluated as part of your participation grade, so this is not an opportunity to leave early. This is also a good time to ask your learning team if you have any questions about logistical issues or
