2 What are nervous system’s functions? The nervous system organizes and controls an individual’s appropriate interactions with his/her environment. Thus, it’s functions are dynamic, vast and wide ranging to include thoughts, perceptions, behavior and many believe, the very essences of one’s being--consciousnes and the mind.

3 Behavior is the result of nervous system connectivity which is controlled by both our genes and our environment. We are now in a post-genomic phase of neuroscience. Most genes are expressed in the brain, either during development or later. It is the spatial and temporal regulatioon of genes that builds the nervous system. Neuroscience therefore encompasses the field of genetics, cell biology, physiology and developmental biology…just to name a few
