Preparation Assignment – RELS/HUM 191 Summer 2010 1. The intent of this assignment is to get you more involved in the topic for that day's lecture than you might be by simply reading a textbook, and to help develop your research skills in our Age of Information. 2. For each class session after the first, there are between five and ten topic choices given for the Preparation Assignment. Choose only one for each week. Perform enough research to confidently fill out the following table of basic information: Who (Who is involved; individuals and/or social groups) What (What is the denomination, movement, or type of philosophy involved) Where (different places where the person/movement lived or was influential) When (Give a precise time period, more than just birth and death dates, but the time when this person/organization had the most influence, when decisive events happened, etc.) Why (Why is this issue or person significant?) 3. For each topic, you will locate and read a scholarly article from one of the journals
