This House should allow cannibalism in extreme cases (GOV) Background: There has been one particular instance of cannibalism that is very well known. The Donner party was headed over the Sierra Mountains, and had to resort to cannibalism to stay alive during the freezing cold winter. After they made it home they were ostracized, and looked down upon. They were even sentenced to jail for six months. They were in an awful situation that required some hard decisions. The decision to resort to cannibalism was not taken lightly. It was made after malnutrition had set in. To save their own lives, the Donner party had no alternative but to participate in the act of cannibalism. To save their own lives though they were then sentenced to jail time. It is for this reason and many more that we stand firmly. Resolved: This house should allow cannibalism in extreme cases. Our plan will clarify what we mean. Weighing Mechanism: We will win this round be showing net benefits. Definition(s): To debate this first we must define some terms: Cannibalism, according to Miriam-Webster dictionary, is defined as a person who eats the flesh of another person. This House
