I. EXECUTITIVE SUMMARY
A. Problem Description
1237: WaySafe Markets services eleven district warehouses from three regional
centers. From here on out, our goal is to minimize costs. The traffic volumes vary
from one another in respect to the distance (miles) of the center to the warehouses and
the demand (kilotons). The average cost of the moving goods from a center to a
warehouse is $.50 per ton mile. I will continue to use and follow the transportation
model in order to find the optimal shipment schedule and its cost for WaySafe
Markets. Furthermore, there are three parts to this problem which include solving a
modified problem and answering the questions which are all compared to the original
base case optimal solution that we are supposed to find. I will refer to these three
parts/scenarios as (a), (b), and (c).

(a) After center C1 is increased by 100 kilotons and reduced the cost of all shipments,
answer the following:
1) How much does the total cost decrease by?
2) How much does the volume shipped increase?
