Business 10 Article for Presidential Debate As I’m watching the debate I notice that one major similarity between the two main presidential candidates. They seemingly follow the marketing mix. Both Barack Obama and John McCain use the marketing mix to their advantage. Marketing has been divided into 4 categories; these 4 categories are for the sole purpose of pleasing the customers. The four categories are product, price, place, and promotion. The product is the candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama. The price is how it will affect the American people, what it might cost them if they chose a specific candidate. The promotion is how the candidates present themselves. Where they choose to be and where they need to be would be considered the “place.” Battle ground states are a key place for them to market their product a.k.a. themselves.
