    National School Lunch National School Lunch Program Program Meals served in the National School Lunch Program  (NSLP) should be nutritious and well- balanced.  The meal patterns required by the NSLP provide children  with approximately one-third of the nutrients they need  according to the Recommended Dietary Allowances.   In any one meal service, the objective is to provide one meal  to each child.
