The primary focus of this course is on the further development of listening and speaking skills through situational, functional, and communicative lessons. Writing and reading skills are to be developed through homework assignments and quizzes. Reading and writing skills of hiragana characters are minimum requirements for registering in this course. Course Goals and Student Learning Objectives To develop the students’ four Japanese language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in three modes of communication (interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational).
