Course Description Introduction to Audio and Video. This course will teach students the fundamentals of audio and video production and prepare students for more advanced courses within the TRFT curriculum. Course Goals and Student Learning Objectives •To tell meaningful stories through production of good narratives in audio(radio) and television. To appreciate the art and aesthetics of media. Communicate information and entertainment to diverse cultures using audio(radio) and film. Being sensitive to the ways and processes of, and the attitudes held by races, religions, political and social groups that are not their own. Understand how to write, produce and direct radio and television projects. Achieve professional level skills of production. Select and operate appropriate audio and video technologies. Course Content Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: · Produce commercial length audio projects in the RTVF audio labs D & E on their own, understanding and making the basic technical and aesthetic choices to successfully complete such projects. · Identify and operate video studio and control room equipment, understand and make the basic technical and aesthetic choices in a video production, and work successfully in a group production environment.
