NuFS 144 section 1 Summer 2010 Cultural Food Comparison Research Paper and Presentation Due Dates: Report: 6/24/2010 Presentations: 6/29/2010 and 7/1/2010 For this report, you will research a food that is common to many cultures, chosen from the list of approved food topics below. You will present a history of the food from an anthropological/historical point of view and describe traditional uses in the cultures where it is used, including symbolic uses of the food and any restrictions on the use of the food. You will also discuss changing uses of the food in the modern world due to immigration and globalization. The paper will be 6 pages in length and must include a list of at least 4 references in an approved reference format such as APA. The references should be publications: books, journals, magazines, newspapers are all acceptable. Websites are not acceptable. In-paper citations should follow the same approved format (APA or other). The presentation should be 5-6 minutes maximum, and will be an overview of the paper. You should prepare at least 4 PowerPoint slides
