Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering The Electronic Scale 11/20/08 Report Author: Lab Date: 9/28/08 Summary This experimental report describes what an operational amplifier is and how they, such as LF353 dual operational and INA126 instrumentation amplifier, can be used in amplifying signal with the assist of the Atmega 128 microcontroller with STK500 and STK501 interface board and breadboard. Cantilever beam is built into the circuit with different setup and used as measurement system. Varying the weight on the beam results in the change in output of the voltage in FG as a digital electronic scale. ________________________________ Results/Discussion In the first experiment, inverting amplifier is built and tested with LF353 dual operational amplifier. The resistors are recorded as R 1 =10 k , R Ω 2 = 200 k Ω for the circuit. After applying power to the circuit, the sine wave signals are displayed on the FG screen. It is found out that the voltage peaks appear to be opposite each other as seen in the following Figure 2. And also the amplitude of the output signal agrees with the
