Take-Home Midterm Essay Exam RELS 70B TECHNICAL DETAILS:  Format : Typed, 12-point font, double-spaced, one-inch margin all around. Length : Each answer 700 words (2 pages) long. Due :  beginning of class October 8th Late  exams are graded down one notch (B  B-) for every day of lateness. PROOF READ : More than 3 spelling or grammar mistakes C.  WRITING INSTRUCTIONS Before starting to write read the handout called “10 Writing mistakes” in the Writing  Skills section of the Course pack. Avoid all 10 of those mistakes Assume that your reader doesn’t know anything about religion. This means that if  you use technical terms, whether in English or Sanskrit, you have to define them.  Be as specific as you can—don’t just say ‘Shiva,’ be specific about which form of  Shiva, what kind of image: self made, man-made, permanent etc.
