The US Federal Government should ban cigarettes (OPP). OPP Resolution: The US Federal Government should not ban cigarettes.  Background info/story:  America is supposed to be “the land of the free….”  Immigrants  migrate here to gain more independence than they did in their home country.  The US  Federal Government cannot tell people what they can or cannot do in their own time or  to their own self.  If we start banning cigarettes to control a public health hazard, what’s  next? A ban on eating too much fast food? Or maybe a ban on sneezing and coughing  in public? The US Federal Government should NOT ban cigarettes.   Terms to be challenged: US Federal Government- the central government entity established by the United                 States Constitution, which shares sovereignty over the United States       of America with the governments of the individual US states.
