Homework 7 – Spring 2010 (due May 10) Chapter 9 Problems 1. There are 256 word elements in a sampler array (sampleArray) that is filled from I/O port 80h at 50 millisecond intervals. After sampleArray is filled, its data is moved to a processing buffer (Proc_Buf). Write the data and code segments to perform these operations. 2. Write the code to “fill” 4KB of data memory with a repeating pattern of 00 to FFh. Fill memory begins at 80000h. Memory location 80000h will contain 00h, 80001h will have 01h, 80002h will contain 02h and finally 800FFh will have FFh. Memory location 80100h with 00h will start the repeating pattern over again. 3. Compare two 128 doubleword data arrays (Array1 and Array2), which were previously filled by sampling in a “ping-pong” fashion, that is, Array1 was filled first then Array2. Write code to compare every location in each array, looking for differences. List the array locations (00h, 01h, etc.) in data memory where the differences were found.
