ASSIGNMENT 2: MAKING YOUR OWN CODEX Materials needed: 2 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper Pencil, Black in pen, Rubricator, Eraser Stapler 1. Create 2 sheets of “vellum” by indicating the sides of the sheets are the “hair” side of the hide by lightly crosshatching in pencil across one side of each page . 2. Take your 2 sheets of vellum and correctly assemble it—hair side to hair side, and flesh side to flesh side—and fold it in half. Staple along the fold line to create a folio of 4 leaves and eight pages . 3. Correctly number the recto and verso of each page (on the upper exterior corner) in pencil, beginning your numbering with 1r (recto one). 4. On 1r write down in black ink the title of this assignment, and beneath it rubric in your first and last name . 5. On 2r , transcribe the antiphon “In Paradisum” into modern notation.
