Are You A Good Leader? This test was created by Karlin Sloan , a top executive coach who has coached executives at Allstate , Citigroup , JP Morgan Chase , and many other companies. She is also the author of Smarter, Faster, Better: Strategies for Effective, Enduring, and Fulfilled Leadersh ip. This book offers advice for anyone who wants to advance a management career up to the leadership level. Q. What's the difference between managing and leading? A. Management is certainly part of leadership. But leadership requires that you create a strategy, a vision, and then exemplify it. 1. You have lots of training and experience managing people, but have trouble keeping up with the latest technology. You: a. Try to learn as much as you can about new advances in your spare time. b. Sign up for extra training on how to motivate employees, evaluate their performance, and improve your public speaking skills. c. Assume that, if there's anything you need to know about new office technology, the IT department will tell you about it. 2. You've always been a linear thinker, using logic to solve every problem. When someone presents you with a dilemma for which there is no clear logical response (say, an employee upset over a missing stapler loudly denounces his colleagues as a bunch of thieves), you: a. Hammer away at the employee with logical arguments as to why he is being irrational.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
