(Ethnographer) Anthro 115 Mon/ Wed 4:30-5:45 Dr. Jennifer Anderson Interview: Ali I recently interviewed Ali. Ali was born in Tehran, Iran in 1983 where his father and mother lived along with his brother and sister at the time. By the time he was seven he was living in San Jose, Ca. His family moved here in order to obtain a better life because in Iran there are limits to one’s freedoms and war between Iran and Iraq. He currently lives at home with his parents and grandmother. As he is Persian, family is very important to him and he stays as close as possible with his immediate family and with all his cousins, aunts and uncles. His older brother and sister do not live at home, but he stays in close contact with. He is currently studying Finance at Sana Jose State University. He has worked for the past five years as a bartender and a server at numerous restaurants including La Fondue, The Cheesecake Factory, and Los Altos Grill.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
