Course Overview and Description: This course is designed to provide you with a practical introduction to information systems and technology infrastructure including terms, concepts, capabilities, and impacts on business organizations. It will help provide you with a solid understanding of business driven information systems and how organizations improve their business practices through the use of computer technology. Why is this course important to you? In today’s business environment, business professionals must understand and intelligently use information systems to gain competitive advantage for their companies. Management information systems and supporting infrastructures are important to every business function be it marketing, finance, customer services, sales, manufacturing, legal, or human resources. Understanding the basics can potentially help you succeed in your business career. b. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Business 91L and Business 100W is preferred as you will be writing two short Case Analysis.
