: Structure and operation of non-commercial radio station KSJS-FM. Theory and
practice of radio management, programming, production, public service, sales and
engineering. Prerequisite: Appointment to KSJS management staff or instructor consent.
The goal of RTVF 194 is to help you become a better manager. You’ll be expected to
conceive, research, design and implement projects that will directly effect the operation,
management, programming, production, promotion and public service mission of the radio

: KSJS-FM is licensed to San Jose State University and administered by
the Department of Television, Radio, Film & Theatre. We have a dual mission: As a course
of study, we serve the instructional needs of a diverse group of students from all university
majors. But we also have a listening audience. Like all broadcasters, we are governed by the
Federal Communications Commission, which means we must actively assess and meet the
public service needs of a community beyond the university. KSJS-FM is operated by a
student leadership team under the direction of General Manager Nick Martinez and Faculty
Advisors Kimb Massey, Brad Stone, Mike Adams, and is funded by a combination of
