This is an outline of the three-step writing process to apply to cases. Answer all questions directly on this  form. Then add a page break, and write your message in response to the case on the following page. For  the three-step process questions, you may use short phrases and sentences for your answers. Student name?    Case number and short name for case?    I. Plan A. Analyze the Situation 1. What is your general purpose?   Write a memo about a policy change. 2. What is your specific purpose?   Address the news bureau managers about the new policy  on handling employees who violate email privacy rules. 3. Exactly what do you want your audience to think, feel or believe after receiving your  message?  The LA Times will not tolerate employees who violate email privacy and this is  what will be done.  4. Who is your primary audience?   News Bureau Managers 5. What is their background?   Business Managers 6. How are its members different from one another?  Each manager is in a different part of  the globe  7. How are its members similar to one another?   Each are managers in the same company. 8. What are their reactions likely to be to your message?   Managers will accept the  message because it gives them a cut and dry way of handling the issue instead of them
