Description What it is… 1. Many nations became satellites of the Soviet Union. This policy was established to help nations resist Soviet aggression. 1. 2. A massive economic aid proposed to strengthen democratic governments and lessen the appeal of communism. 2. 3. 3. War Saw Pact 4. An military alliance formed that included Western European Countries 4. 5. 5. The Arms Race 6. 6. The Space Race 7. After WW2, Korea was populated by a Communist North and a Non-Communist South. Northern leaders wanted to make the South follow Communist rule & invaded the South in 1950. 7. 8. In 1954, Vietnam’s Northern half was led by Ho Chi Minh, a Communist leader & a Southern part led by Ngo Dinh Diem. Minh invaded the South in order to unite the South under Communist rule. 8. 9. 9. Developing Nations 10. After WW2, the United States, Soviet Union, Japan & countries of Western Europe were considered this “type” of nations. 10.
