Eating Disorders Defined Eating disorders = psychological disorder with medical and psychiatric aspects o Obsession with food body image and weight o Serious health risk over time Three Primary Disorders o Anorexia Nervosa Starvation, excess weight loss o Bulima Nervosa Cycles of binging and purging Purging- puking, laxatives, excessive exercises o Binge Eating disorder Excessive eating, do not compensate for all the calories they had Unhealthy Intake Anorexics Some eat as few as 100-200 calories day
