Heredity and hormones play a major key in how we live in our bodies. Life experiences and how we react to those experiences can be tracked to hormones and our family history. Hereditary circumstances are handed down to us from generation to generation; this is not something that can be controlled. Heredity is the passing of traits from a parent to their young. Defining how much heredity and genetics plays a role in a person’s behavior, bringing to light the debate of nature versus nurture. Researchers have attempted to classify specific genes that may be responsible for behaviors; aggression, shyness, depression, anxiety, and risk-taking. Studies linking twins have tried to compare genetics and behavior, in some cases; the researchers were not looking for a particular gene, but for similarities within the family. The Nervous System and the Endocrine System work together having a constant chemical conversation (Axia 2005). The Endocrine System consists of many glands located throughout the
