Axia College Material Appendix D TV Character Evaluation Part I Write a summary of 350-700 words identifying the contributions of Freud, Jung, and Rogers. The contributions of Freud, Jung, and Rogers are significant in understanding how personality traits in humans function, these studies are still used as the base for testing today. Freud is the founder of psychoanalysis, is known as the psychologist who determined that our personalities are the makings of our unconscious behavior, ideas, thoughts, and feelings in which we are completely unaware of. Stating that personalities are made of up three structures; the id, the ego, and the superego, which operate according to the pleasure principles. The id presents itself at birth and continues on to the ego during the toddler years, until the superego is discovered during the adolescent years. During superego stage Freud has determined that our personalities also use defense mechanisms; denial, repression, projection, identification, regression,
